Playas de Tijuana
An easier option than the Sloughs is Playas de Tijuana, which is right
there along the strip in front of the bullring. The beachbreak here is
fun to good, with something to surf most of the time, but gets some
south swell blocked by the islands. Shape is good up to double
overhead. The access is easy and the strip there is kind of fun as it
is the tourist beach for the Tijuana locals. Never really crowded.
Something to consider, though, is the pollution. All of Tijuana’s runoff
meets the ocean right here. If you visit the Playas de Tijuana you will
need to get back to the toll road in order to head south to the other
breaks.
